Effective date: January 1, 2026
At Beyond The Leash (“BTL”), our goal is to provide thoughtful, attentive, in-home dog boarding in a calm, safe environment. These terms exist to set clear expectations so everyone - especially your dog - has a great experience.
By booking services with Beyond The Leash, you agree to the following:
Beyond The Leash Boarding | Terms of Service
What Beyond The Leash Is (And Is Not)
Beyond The Leash provides in-home dog boarding in a real residential setting. BTL is an independent dog care provider - not a kennel, daycare facility, veterinary, or other medical or professional service provider. While we take great care to create a safe, low-stress environment, dog care naturally involves some risk, including illness, injury, or behavioral changes. Services are limited to in-home boarding as described in this document.
Your Responsibilities as a Dog Owner
To help ensure the best possible stay, you agree that:
Your dog is generally healthy, up to date on vaccinations, and free from contagious illness at the time of boarding
You have fully and honestly disclosed:
Medical conditions
Medications or special care needs
Behavioral challenges (including anxiety, reactivity, or bite history)
Beyond The Leash typically boards one dog at a time. In the event of an overlapping request, dogs will only be boarded together with prior discussion and explicit consent from all owners, and only if both dogs appear to be a good fit
You have provided accurate emergency contact information
Clear, honest communication helps keep everyone safe and comfortable. If new or undisclosed information comes up that affects care or safety, the stay may need to end early.
As the owner, you know your dog best, and that's exactly why honest disclosure matters so much. You are responsible for any harm, damage, or costs that result from your dog's actions or from information that wasn't shared upfront. This includes things like property damage, bites, or claims made by others. If Beyond The Leash faces any costs or legal fees because of these situations, you agree to cover them. This does not apply to anything caused by Beyond The Leash's own negligence or misconduct.
Meet & Greets
Meet & greets help confirm that Beyond The Leash is a good fit for both you and your dog.
For new clients, a meet & greet is typically required for stays of three (3) nights or longer, or when a dog has specific care needs or behavioral considerations. For shorter stays, bookings may be accepted without a meet & greet at our sole discretion based on the information provided.
For safety and well-being, Beyond The Leash reserves the right to decline or cancel a booking if a dog is not a good fit for the home environment. Our goal is always to make sure each stay feels safe, comfortable, and low-stress.
Care, Supervision & Home Environment
Dogs receive attentive, thorough, and loving care while staying with Beyond The Leash.
This includes:
Regular walks and exercise
Feeding and routines as discussed
Engagement, affection, and supervision appropriate to a home setting
Dogs are cared for in a real home - not kenneled unless requested or needed for safety. As with any home environment, dogs will not be supervised every moment (for example, during sleep, brief errands, or normal household activities), but their safety, comfort, and well-being are always a priority. The owner understands and agrees that intermittent, reasonable periods without direct supervision are expected. If you prefer your dog to be crated at any point, or if a crate helps them feel more at home, just bring one along and let me know.
Emergencies & Veterinary Care
If a medical emergency arises, BTL is authorized to seek veterinary care, including providing transportation, if it appears to be in your dog’s best interest. BTL will make reasonable efforts to contact you or your designated emergency contact as soon as practicable.
You agree to be financially responsible for any veterinary expenses incurred during your dog’s stay. Beyond The Leash does not provide pet insurance.
Health, Injury & Assumption of Risk
While every effort is made to provide excellent care, you understand that:
Dogs may become ill or injured
Dogs may experience temporary stress or behavioral changes
Minor injuries related to normal activity or adjustment can occur
Beyond The Leash is not liable for illness or injury unless it results from gross negligence or misconduct on our part. By booking, you acknowledge that dog care involves inherent risk, and agree that any claim would be limited to a refund of fees paid. This includes waiving claims for additional damages beyond that amount, to the extent permitted by Texas law.
Medications & Special Care
If your dog requires medication or special care, please provide clear written instructions (via text or email). Medications are administered carefully and as directed.
Beyond The Leash is not responsible for complications related to undisclosed conditions, or inaccurate or unclear directions.
Cancellations & Refunds
BTL understands that plans change, and aims to be as flexible as possible.
Cancellations made with at least 24 hours’ notice will receive a full refund
If a stay is shortened or pickup occurs early, a refund will be provided for the unused night(s)
In the rare event a stay must end early due to safety concerns, a refund will be provided for the unused night(s)
Clear communication is always appreciated -- please reach out as soon as possible if something changes. Refunds apply to boarding fees only and do not include any non-refundable third-party costs, such as veterinary expenses, if applicable.
Safety Concerns & Early Termination
If a dog displays behavior that is unsafe or unmanageable despite prior discussion, the stay may need to end early. In rare or urgent situations, immediate pickup may be required. This is always a last resort and handled with your dog’s safety and well-being in mind.
Photos & Updates
If desired, you’ll receive photos and updates (via text) during your dog’s stay.
From time to time, BTL may share non-identifying photos of dogs in our care on our website or social media to showcase the environment and experience at Beyond The Leash. No names or identifying details are ever shared. If you prefer that your dog’s photos not be used in this way, just let us know - We are always happy to honor that.
Payment
Payment is accepted via Venmo or Apple Cash once your booking dates are approved. Your booking is not confirmed until payment is received.
Payment must be received in full before your dog's stay begins. Bookings are not considered final until payment has been processed.
Refunds: Cancellations made with at least 24 hours' notice will receive a full refund. If a stay is shortened or pick-up occurs early, a refund will be provided for the unused night(s). In the rare event a stay must end early due to safety concerns, a refund will be provided for the unused night(s). Refunds apply to boarding fees only and do not include any non-refundable third-party costs, such as veterinary expenses, if applicable.
Agreement
By booking services with Beyond The Leash, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service.
